Tech Talk Topic: Holograms and Augmented Reality is the next user interface

Depending on the current condition of technologies, certain developments will progress significantly with regards to user interface. Holograms and Augmented Reality will doubtlessly change peoples’ points of view for the world. In any case, how would we execute the use of such technology in our everyday lives? Augmented Reality will be the next and new user interface that humans can interact with.

The evolution of how we interact with technologies from the pressing buttons on computers to the use of touchscreens on smartphones and tablets and to be able to utilize and commanding the software technology through our voice directions to ask built in virtual assistance such as Siri and Alexa to respond to our questions, make recommendations and assist us with completing things (Pranjić, 2018).
We are now at the age of using holographic user interface. A way that we can execute the use of hologram is through our smartphones, before, there was the commonly used two-dimensional images, and then it evolved to three-dimensional image which the reflection of the image bounced from the light, this means that the 3-D holographic image was created from a reflection that turns light into pictures. Holograms then evolved even further, they have been implemented and used in devices mainly in smartphones that everyone uses on a daily basis (Viramgama, 2018).

Most of the well-known tech companies in the world are now attempting to implement these holographic programs into their devices. All of them are investing a lot of their time, money, and effort into making this happen. Apple was able to input the augmented reality feature into their recently launched iPhone X which can be used to run the AR images through their new camera lens (Wright, 2018).
There are also other tech companies such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon and more have invented and produce devices specifically made for AR to function at their best, the devices that are not just smartphones but also glasses, spectacles, and virtual reality gears which is able to mix the user interface from the virtual world to the real world that lets you see and interact with AR directly attached to your eyes.
I chose to talk about this topic because not only did I find it interesting but I also used the AR function after it was implemented into smartphones that are available to everyone who purchased it, it was a very fun and great experience to be able to use AR so easily from my phone. AR will be able to extend human capabilities and assist them in their work where they will be able to use it to stimulate real-life situations, experience a new way of computing through hand gestures, and to have a better point of view.
